Day 1: Saturday

Welcome! Benvenuti! Make yourself at home in Italy.

Unpack, relax, and settle in. Meet Beatrice, the owner, or a member of her staff, and take some time to explore Tredozio. Visit the local butcher, bakery, and greengrocer, and enjoy a coffee, hot chocolate, or a refreshing drink at the café by the river.

Shops are open on Saturdays from 4:30 to 7:00 pm, and one grocery store is open on Sunday mornings.

For dinner, head to La Taverna dei Rioni, located in the main square.

Day 2: Sunday

Drive over the mountain to Portico di Romagna.

Take a leisurely stroll through this charming village and admire the distinctive 14th-century stone bridge, the Ponte della Maestà, as well as the house of Beatrice Portinari, Dante’s beloved.

Enjoy a traditional Italian Sunday lunch at Al Vecchio Convento (advance booking recommended). If you are visiting in autumn, don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy seasonal truffles.

Day 3: Monday

Arrange a wine tasting at La Berta Wine Estate in Brisighella in advance. Don’t forget to pick up a few bottles to enjoy during your stay.

Stroll through the historic center of Brisighella and stop by the tourist office. Don’t miss the charming Via degli Asini. Enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants — we recommend L’Osteria di Guercinoro or Framboise Cucina.

Continue towards Faenza and stop at Villa Emaldi (advance booking required) to visit the workshop of Contessa Antonietta Emaldi, where you can admire and purchase beautifully hand-painted maiolica ceramics. Those interested may also book a hands-on ceramics class.

Take time to explore the historic center of Faenza, including the International Museum of Ceramics.

End your day with dinner at Locanda Guelfo in Tredozio (reservation recommended).

Day 4: Tuesday

Ravenna is a must-see, renowned for its extraordinary Byzantine mosaics. Wander through its historic center and relax in the beautiful Piazza del Popolo.

Visit the Tomb of Dante, where Dante Alighieri is buried. Just a few miles away, you will find the stunning Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe.

For lunch, we suggest Ca’ de Vèn.

In the afternoon, you may choose to relax on the sandy beaches of Lido di Ravenna or visit the charming seaside town of Cervia. Enjoy a drink by the harbor and consider purchasing the famous local salt, Sale di Cervia.

A visit to the Cervia salt pans at sunset is highly recommended.

Day 5: Wednesday

Take part in a cooking class in Tredozio or Modigliana. You will learn how to prepare traditional local dishes such as handmade sfoglia, tortelli, or bartolaccio, followed by a tasting of your creations.

In the afternoon, visit the gardens and museum of Palazzo Fantini.

For dinner, we recommend Agriturismo Ridiano (reservation required).

Day 6: Thursday

Bologna, famous for its porticoes (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), is ideal to visit in any weather. With over 37 kilometers of covered walkways, it is perfect for exploring on foot.

Start at the tourist office in Piazza Maggiore and pick up a city map. Visit historic churches and palaces, and discover why Bologna is known as “the Learned,” home to Europe’s oldest university.

Climb the Torre degli Asinelli for panoramic views of the city.

Enjoy lunch in one of the many traditional restaurants, then continue exploring Strada Maggiore, the Jewish Ghetto, the markets along Via Drapperie, and the elegant shops of Galleria Cavour.

For gelato, stop at Cremeria Cavour.

Food lovers may also enjoy a visit to the Mercato delle Erbe on Via Ugo Bassi.

Day 7: Friday

After breakfast, prepare a picnic and head to the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, just south of Tredozio.

Park at San Benedetto in Alpe and follow the trail to the Acquacheta waterfall, famously described by Dante in the Inferno.

Day 8: Saturday

Travel to Florence by train from Marradi (recommended), with departures around 9:00 am. Alternatively, you can drive over the mountains.

If driving, you may wish to stop at the Barberino Designer Outlet on the way.

Spend the day exploring Florence before returning in the evening.

Day 9: Sunday

Relax by the pool and enjoy a slower pace of life.

Day 10: Monday

Urbino is approximately a two-hour drive (155 km). This magnificent hill town is renowned for its Renaissance heritage and works by Piero della Francesca.

Day 11: Tuesday

Visit Rocca San Casciano, a charming village just 18 km from Tredozio, surrounded by the Apennine hills.

Enjoy lunch at Corte San Ruffillo Country Resort (advance booking recommended).

In the afternoon, continue to Castrocaro Terme. Enjoy a gelato in one of its picturesque squares or relax at the Grand Hotel Castrocaro Spa.

Day 12: Wednesday

Head to Bertinoro, known as the birthplace of Sangiovese di Romagna.

Visit Enoteca Ca’ de Be’ to enjoy a glass of wine and try the traditional piadina.

Day 13: Thursday

Explore Forlì, including its historic center, museums, and shopping streets along Corso della Repubblica.

Do not miss the San Domenico Museum, one of the highlights of the city.

Enjoy lunch at L’Amorosina.

In the afternoon, visit La Pandolfa Wine Estate in Fiumana di Predappio for a wine tasting (advance booking recommended).

Day 14: Friday

A final day to revisit your favorite places, do some shopping, or simply relax.

Day 15: Saturday

Reflect on your stay and enjoy a final slow morning.
